IOWA CITY– Volunteers are needed for the Compeer Program of Johnson County. The Compeer Program matches adult community volunteers in friendships with adults who are receiving mental health treatment. Compeer has now expanded its program outreach to offer friendships to Shelter House Clients and to match Military Veterans receiving mental health treatment with volunteer Vets. We also continue to serve the all of the Johnson County Community.
Volunteer training will take place Thursday, June 23, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Community Mental Health Center, 507 E. College St. in Iowa City. Attending the training does not commit you to volunteering but allows an opportunity to learn about the program and how it works. Contact Karen Fox at 338-7884 x 245 or firstname.lastname@example.org to register. Visit www.compeerjohnsoncountyiowa.org for more information about Compeer.
