AMES– Any parent, new or seasoned, may have questions regarding his or her children. Iowa State University Extension and Outreach offers a free monthly newsletter, Just in Time Parenting, with helpful information on parenting young ones.
According to Kimberly Greder, an extension specialist and associate professor of human development and family studies at Iowa State University, the newsletter is written by a team of university researchers and educators and is based on the latest research.
Each month parents will get information specific to their child’s age and needs.
Each issue in the 8-page newsletter is geared to a specific month in the infant’s first year of life. Once the child turns one, the newsletters arrive every two months. Newsletters include information on the physical, intellectual, emotional and social skills being developed by children at a specific age and address some of the most common threats to early brain development. The newsletter is free and is delivered electronically to the recipient’s email address.
