IOWA CITY– The January Midday Connection luncheon event will be held at the University Club, 1360 Melrose Ave., Iowa City, on Wednesday, Jan. 11, at noon. Cost is $15.
“Let’s Piece It Together” is the luncheon theme, which features Peg Griffin-Wood, owner of Common Threads in North Liberty. Griffin-Wood will display old and new sewing machines, fabrics and different ways of quilting.
Doug Peters, of Iowa City, will provide music. Peters is a gifted tenor and composer who accompanies himself on guitar.
The featured speaker is Ann Deisher, Kirkwood, Ill., on the topic, “Relationships: the High Cost of Measuring Up.” Deisher is a former teacher who traveled to China to assist with the adoption of her three year old twin granddaughters.
