SOLON– Solon Parks and Recreation will be offering a six-week ZUMBA and a six-week Pilates class starting in February. Both classes will be held on Tuesday evenings. Pilates will be from 5:30-6:30 p.m. and ZUMBA will be from 6:30-7:15 p.m.
ZUMBA combines dance and fitness moves for cardiovascular health, toning and strength building. Pilates helps build flexibility and long, lean muscles, strength and endurance in the legs, abdominals, arms, hips and back. ZUMBA and Pilates are two of the most popular fitness programs and they are exercises for most ages, especially during the winter months. • Solon Parks and Recreation will also be offering a basketball program for boys and girls in first and second grade at the Lakeview Elementary gym, beginning Saturday, Feb. 18. The program dates are (Feb. 18, Feb. 25, March 3 and March 17). • Due to tremendous interest and large number of participants in yoga, the City of Solon is offering another five-week yoga class.
