The Lakeview Preschool will soon be accepting applications for 2012-2013 openings. If you are interested in receiving an application packet, please call the Lakeview office at 319-624-3401, ext 1290, or email Heather Groh firstname.lastname@example.org  and request to be added to the list. We will ask for your name, home address, email address, telephone number, your child’s name and his/her date of birth. Please have this information to the Lakeview office by Friday, Feb. 17. The following week, several forms will be sent, which then will need to be returned to the school by March 2 at 4 p.m.
Lakeview’s Preschool program operates Monday through Friday, 8:10 a.m. until 3:05 p.m. and follows the school calendar. If additional care is needed, the Before and After School Program coordinates with the preschool for a separate fee. There are varying options available, depending on the number of hours and days in attendance. High School orientation
High School orientation for eighth grade parents and students will be held Monday, Feb. 13, at 7:30 p.m. in the Solon High School commons. High school staff will share course registration timeline, information on course options and other pertinent information to students and parents to help in the selection of courses.
In addition to orientation, an informal open house has been scheduled for Thursday, Feb. 16, beginning at 6 p.m. Teachers from the various departments will be available to meet and share information about their content specific courses. Departments will rotate through the media center every 10 minutes.
A more in-depth orientation to high school will take place in the fall before school starts.
Solon High School parent-teacher conference online signup
Solon High School parent-teacher conferences will be held Thursday, Feb. 16, from 1:30-7 p.m. Please sign up for high school parent-teacher conferences online, beginning on Monday, Feb. 6.
Go to the website: https://www.myschoolsystems.com/solon/highschool/  and log in using your child’s first name and last name and then your child’s Power School password. You must use the student password, not the parent password, to access the scheduling program.
If you have forgotten your password, you can click on the link titled “Forgot password?” This will allow you to enter your child’s first and last name (must match name in Power School). A message containing your password will be emailed to you if you have an email address in Power School.
If you have more than one high school child and have the same email address for each in Power School, you will be able to click a button to move from one child to the next to schedule conferences. Click the button next to the class to schedule or change an appointment. Click on the circle next to the time you would like for your conference. A red X indicates a timeslot that is not available. After choosing your time, click “Schedule Time” at the bottom of the page (to save your selection). You will then see a confirmation. Do this for each teacher with whom you’d like to conference (maximum of four). You may wish to print the schedule to bring along to conferences.
