SOLON– If you haven’t driven past the library and seen the new sign, it really should be on your next route through town. As the staff learns the computer program that runs it, the tweaking will continue but to the untrained eye, it’s a sight to behold as is.
After over two years in the planning, the sign was installed on Friday, Oct. 26, in a matter of hours. The first LED messages were running by late afternoon. The sign, made of brick and sporting the library name and logo, makes a substantial statement. Some of the comments have been, “The library sign is fantastic,” and, “It really looks awesome at night,” as well as many “WOWs” and double takes on the drive past.
The sign, funded by the Solon Library Foundation, the Friends of the Solon Library, and bequest donations released by the Library Board of Trustees, is an exciting new addition for the library and the community. The LED message will be used to announce library activities and events, book sales, Summer Reading Program events and pertinent city information as well.
