For the 2013-2014 school year, Solon community schools will be once again be using an e-registration process accessible through PowerSchool. This process will use the same login information parents of middle school and high school students use to check grades via PowerSchool. Parents of incoming preschool and Kindergarten students will be mailed access IDs and passwords this summer. We are requiring all families to use e-registration, therefore we will be setting up computers at the Central Office to assist families with completing e-registration. The e-registration process is now available by browsing to the SCSD website (www.solon.k12.ia.us ) and clicking on the registration tab. The e-registration process will utilize a four-step process:
Browse to the Solon schools website (www.solon.k12.ia.us ) and click on the registration tab.
Follow the first two steps, which include updating PowerSchool and paying via RevTrak or completing a school fees form to pay by check.
Indicate transportation requests.
Finally, several optional forms may need to be printed and completed.
Families who desire competent private instruction need to contact the central office for the proper forms or within 14 calendar days of removing your child from Solon schools. If you are enrolling in a home school assistance program please notify the school district if you plan to dual enroll.
Individual school pictures will be taken a little later in the school year now being done on Wednesday, Sept. 18, by Lifetouch Photography. Several package options are available through a prepayment-money back guaranteed plan. Complete information will be distributed the first full week of school. All checks must be made payable to Lifetouch Photography.
All athletes must have a physical examination completed before he/she will be allowed to participate or practice. School physical forms may be picked up at the high school or central offices during the summer or are available on the school’s web site under registration.
Athletes are also required to turn in a signed concussion form that is attached to the physical.
Continue to check the school’s on-line calendar for school events. Also the one page 2013-2014 school year calendar is available on the web site under calendars.
