NORTH LIBERTY– Several North Liberty churches will be hosting “Make A Difference Day,” a service project on Saturday, Sept. 28, from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m. Work teams from local churches will be fanning out all over North Liberty to perform community service.
Service projects will include yard work, small construction jobs, window washing, painting and many other projects at little or no cost, to improve lives in the North Liberty community.
“My team was the greatest. They kept asking me, “is there anything else?” They were a gift,” commented one recipient. Another said, “great group, they came in and discussed my needs and went to work.”
The goal is for 200 people to participate in some way. They have begun to sign people up. Children and youth are welcome to participate with their families, as this is a way to instill the value of working with our neighbors.
For information on receiving help, or to volunteer, call your local church or contact the North Liberty First United Methodist Church at 319-626-2762.
