Help needed for Living Roadways Earth Day clean-up on Saturday

SOLON– Solon Living Roadways is having an Earth Day clean-up event on Saturday, March 21, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. with the Women’s Club and Garden Club. The event will be held at the Solon American Legion field by the library. Anyone willing to help weed and mulch are welcome. Be sure to bring gloves and tools. Forum to discuss 1 Cent Sales Tax on Wed., March 25 at library

SOLON– On Wednesday, March 25 at 7 p.m., the Solon Public Library will provide a forum on the 1 Cent Local Option Sales Tax which will be voted on in a special election May 5. Solon Mayor Rick Jedlicka and Deb Thornton, with "Ax the Tax" PAC (political action committee), will be presenting the pro's and con's of this new tax.


Solon Kindergarten Registration set for April 3 at Lakeview Elementary

SOLON– Solon Lakeview Elementary School will hold its Kindergarten Round-Up for the 2009-2010 school year at the Lakeview building on Friday, April 3, 2009, between 8 a.m. and 3 p.m. Children must be five years of age on or before Sept. 15, 2009, to attend kindergarten this fall. It is necessary for parents to bring their child’s birth certificate so the school records will be official. If you live in the Solon school district and have a child who should be entering kindergarten this fall and have not contacted the school please call the Lakeview office, 624-3401, ext. 1290.


Bring in spring with Solon Living Roadways dinner/dance April 18

SOLON– Solon Living Roadways will hold a Spring Fling Dinner and Dance on Saturday, April 18 at the Brosh Community Center in Solon. Cocktails and Silent Auction will be from 6-7 p.m. Dinner will be held at 7 with dancing from 7-11 p.m. to the music of the Hopping Iguanas (Solon High School Teacher Band). Menu: Roast pork tenderloin, green bean casserole, cheesy hashbrown potatoes, toss salad, assorted crusty breads, and dessert.
