NORTH LIBERTY– Beginning Wednesday, May 9, Cherry Street is closed just east of Ranshaw Way. The closure is required so crews can reconstruct the east side of the intersection.
The contractor is required to limit the length of the closure, and expects the work to last about three weeks.
During the closure, traffic will be detoured along Penn and Stewart streets. All businesses will remain open.
The Cherry Street underpass will remain open until Monday, May 14, when it is expected to close for four days.

CORALVILLE– Between the morning rush to get out the door and the push to get through traffic, there are few greater needs than to be fully caffeinated. With a new coffee shop in town, those needs are being fully taken care of. Alexandra and DeAngelo Seay moved to the Corridor to pursue their goal of creating a place to bring family and friends together over a delicious cup of coffee. They achieved this goal by opening their own franchise location for Dunn Brothers Coffee.

NORTH LIBERTY– In the calm morning hours of Sunday, April 29, a sea of over 1,200 people gathered on Landon Road in North Liberty, tightening their shoelaces and warming up in preparation for the journey ahead. The city served as host not only to residents of the Corridor area but also to people from across the U.S. as the RUN CRANDIC half marathon began.

SOLON– The boys took care of business at home against Maquoketa in a shutout, but narrowly escaped the Central DeWitt Sabers on the road.
Solon’s varsity soccer team improved to 11-3 with the two wins last week, defeating Maquoketa’s Cardinals 4-0 at Spartan Stadium May 1 and squeaking out a 3-2 overtime victory visiting Central DeWitt May 3.
The Spartans, currently ranked second in Class 1A by the Iowa High School Soccer Coaches Association, will square-off with the top-ranked team, Iowa City Regina, in Iowa City May 10.

SOLON– The midfield celebration was loud… but short… as Solon’s girls raised their WaMaC Conference East Division trophy May 7. They walked away with a 37-point win on their home track. But they also realize the hard work continues. Their Thursday task– the Class 3A state qualifying meet, also at Solon– is to advance as many events as possible to the 2018 state track meet, May 17-19 in Des Moines.
