Yoga for every body

Wellfinity brings yoga and wellness coaching to North Liberty

North Liberty Leader
NORTH LIBERTY– It was a calm and sunny Saturday morning as just over a half-dozen students began their weekend with a yoga session. Counseled by words of mindfulness, the intimate class was led in a series of stretches and poses, de-stressing from the work week over a subtle backdrop of ambient music, tucked away in a dimly lit sanctuary north of Cherry Street.
Wellfinity opened its doors to North Liberty on Feb. 1. A culmination of many years of experience, it focuses primarily on yoga, wellness coaching and an alternative medicine known as reiki.

The first stage of widening work will occur on the east side of the street. Two lanes of traffic will remain open through the project; however, the speed limit and lane width will be reduced to allow crews to begin utility work and install storm sewers.

Solon goes 2-1 in home tourney

Two matches decided by penalty kicks

SOLON– Two matches decided by penalty kicks.
One loss, one win.
It was a bitter wind that blew Saturday, April 7, as the varsity Solon team picked up its first loss of the season against Albia at the Spartan Classic Soccer Tournament.
The Blue Demons prevailed 1-0 after a 3-0 penalty kick (pk) shoot-out, but the Spartans rebounded for a shortened 10-0 victory over Prince of Peace, and capped the day by winning another pk battle, this time against Fairfield.
The Spartans broke a 2-2 tie in regulation with a 5-3 win in extra kicks.
The win moved Solon to 6-1 for the season.

Boys build momentum at CCA Invitational

Field events strong as ever

TIFFIN– It may have only been the second meet for the Solon boys track and field team this season, due to Mother Nature’s recent bipolar conflict, but the results following the Clear Creek Amana (CCA) Boys Invitational held in Tiffin on Thursday, April 5, proved two things; the future looks bright for Solon track competitors and the field events are solid as ever.
Sophomore A.J. Coons placed fourth with a leap if 5-8 in the high jump.

Back on the track

Spring finally yields a meet outdoors for Lady Spartans

SOLON– With temperatures in the upper 40s and brisk breezes, it was hardly ideal track meet weather. But it was the best day of the week and Solon’s girls took advantage of it, with a rescheduled and relocated home meet, April 5.

Solon deflects Comets, 4-2

Even Mother Nature cannot deter the Lady Spartans

SOLON– Mother Nature cast a sideways glance at Solon on Monday, April 2, but it did not deter the Lady Spartans from starting the season with a win, closing out against West Liberty, on the windswept tundra of Spartan Stadium, 4-2.
