Solon softball squad defeats No. 3 Iowa City West at Ft. Dodge tournament

SOLON– Head softball coach Jim White knew the Central DeWitt Sabers could hit the ball.
The team had hit Solon pitchers well before, and had been kept scoreless in only one game so far in the season.
“We’re not going to be shutting them out,” White said prior to a scheduled doubleheader Monday, June 20.
And he was correct.
But the Solon Lady Spartans, ranked No. 3 in Class 3A by the Iowa Girls High School Athletic Union, are no slouches when it comes to reaching the bases, either.
