Apply to serve on a NL board or commission

NORTH LIBERTY– For those looking to get involved in their city, serving on a volunteer board or commission is a great way to do so. Boards members and commissioners work with and advise staff, provide recommendations to council and can make a difference in many aspects of community development.
On July 1, each year, new terms begin on several boards and commissions, and North Liberty residents are invited to take this opportunity to volunteer their time to serve on any one of the following. Applications are available at the City Administration building at 3 Quail Creek Circle or for download at northlibertyiowa.org, and must be turned in by May 21 to City Hall, 3 Quail Creek Circle, or via email to tmulcahey@northlibertyiowa.org. The mayor and city council will review applicants and are scheduled to make appointments at the council’s meeting on June 13, for terms that will begin on July 1.
Applicants must be 18 years old and a legal resident of North Liberty. Iowa State Code requires that cities have gender balance on all boards and commissions, and with appointments and reappointments, gender balance will be considered.
