CCA girls make it 6-0

North Liberty Leader
TIFFIN– Clear Creek Amana’s (CCA) varsity girls soccer team upped its record to 6-0 with wins against Marion and West Liberty ahead of a five-game series on the road.
Hannah Bormann earned a hat trick (three goals) in action Tuesday, April 21, at home against the Marion Indians to lead the Clippers to a 5-0 win against 30-40 mph wind gusts blowing across the field. Kaitlin Riggle scored one goal and the Indians shot themselves in the foot when they turned their own pass into an own goal.
On Monday, April 27, the ladies opened a varsity doubleheader with the gentlemen against West Liberty and won 10-0. This time, Megan Hall picked up the hat trick while Bormann, Kelsey Hall and Carolina Herrera scored two goals each and Bailey Mooney scored one. Bormann had five assists and nine passes with one assist each for the Hall sisters.
The Clippers sailed off to Vinton-Shellsburg on Tuesday, April 28, to kick off the road series. The ladies return to the home field on Friday, May 15, as Western Dubuque visits for a varsity-junior varsity pair starting at 5 p.m.
