Creek Girls pick up first win

TIFFIN– The Clear Creek Amana (CCA) varsity girls soccer team picked up its first win of the 2018 season Friday, April 13, at home against the South Tama Trojans. The Clippers came into the match with an 0-2 record while the Trojans were 1-1.
Carolina Herrera, a senior, struck in the 18th minute for what would turn out to be the only goal of the match. Lillian Hennes, a junior, had a fairly quiet 80 minutes in the goal with no goals allowed and no saves. Ellen Austin, a freshman, made five shots on goal; Carsyn Gallagher took one shot, as did Amelia Perreira, with two shots fired by Herrera.
The Creek girls are home Thursday, April 19, as Center Point-Urbana visits for a 5:30 p.m. contest, and then travel Friday, April 20, to Adel-DeSoto-Minburn’s (ADM) two-day tournament, which wraps up on Saturday, April 21. Marion visits Tiffin on Tuesday, April 24, for a 5:30 p.m. varsity match.
