Dale D. Grifith

Dale D. Griffith, 88, of Cedar Rapids, died Saturday, Nov. 1, 2014, at the Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy, Hiawatha.
Services took place Saturday, Nov. 8, at the Cedar Memorial Funeral Home with the Rev. Dave Higdon officiating. Entombment with military rites was at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery.
Survivors include his daughter, Deanna (Mike) Kroemer of Blairstown; sons, Jack (Barb) of Sheridan, Wyoming, Gary (Nancy) of Solon and Scott of Cedar Rapids. He is also survived by nine grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Arlene in 2010, and a brother Richard.
Dale was born March 15, 1926, in Monticello, the son of Clarence and Rebecca (Appleby) Griffith. He was a veteran of World War II serving overseas in the U.S. Army. On Dec. 21, 1944, he married Arlene M. Lubben in Cedar Rapids. Dale worked as a foreman at Wilson Foods until he retired in 1985 after many years of service. He was a member of the V.F.W. Post #788 and the American Legion.
