Library Board vacancies

There will be vacancies on the Library Board at the beginning of 2012. Openings will include terms for two adult positions residing within the Solon city limits and one adult position representing the rural Solon area. Positions are volunteer, four-year terms appointed by the mayor. Library board meetings are held on the fourth Monday of the month at 7 p.m.
The Library Board determines, adopts and reviews policies used to govern the operation of the library; hires and reviews the performance of the library director, develops an annual budget and reviews expenditures during the year. More information concerning the primary roles of a library board may be viewed on the website @ www.solon.lib.ia.us.
