Lila R. Flansburg, 89, longtime resident of Tiffin, died Monday, Dec. 9, 2013, at Windmill Manor in Coralville.
Funeral services were held Dec. 14 at Grace United Methodist Church in Tiffin with burial following at Oakhill Cemetery. Memorials in Lila’s name can be made to Grace United Methodist Church.
Lila Rose Files was born July 21, 1924, daughter of Lee and Eva (Herring) Files. She served in the U.S. Army during WWII and later married A.C. Flansburg, on Feb. 3, 1947, in Stanwood. She worked alongside A.C. for nearly 40 years, in their hardware store in Tiffin and Mary and Al’s store in Oxford. She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church and the Eastern Star.
Her family includes her daughter, Jill Flansburg and her sweetheart, John McCullough of St. Petersburg, Fla.; sons, Gary (Linda) Flansburg of Iowa City and James (Carol) Flansburg of Des Moines; son-in-law, Al Wyborny; brother, Sherman Files of Tiffin as well as numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
