“Carnage” (2011, R, Comedy/Drama) Two pairs of parents (Jodi Foster, John C. Reilly, Kate Winslet, and Christoph Waltz) hold a cordial meeting after their sons are involved in a fight, though as their time together progresses, increasingly childish behavior throws the evening into chaos. This movie takes place in real time and is based on a Tony-Award winning play. Foster and Winslet also received Golden Globe nominations in 2011 for their outstanding work in this film.
“The Iron Lady” (2011, PG13, Bio/Drama) An elderly Margaret Thatcher talks to the imagined presence of her recently deceased husband as she struggles to come to terms with his death while scenes from her past life, from girlhood to British prime minister, intervene. Meryl Streep won the Academy Award, the BAFTA Award, and the Golden Globe Award for Best Actress for her uncanny portrayal of Thatcher.
“Jeremy Fink and the Meaning of Life” (2011, PG, Family) Jeremy Fink and his best friend Lizzy must search high and low throughout the streets of Manhattan for clues to unlock the mysterious box he received a month before his birthday. Based on a popular Junior Fiction book of the same name.
“Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol” (2011, PG13, Action/Thriller) Tom Cruise is back as Ethan Hunt in the fourth film in the Mission Impossible franchise. The IMF is shut down when it’s implicated in the bombing of the Kremlin, causing Hunt and his new team to go rogue to clear their organization’s name.

Smart Money week workshop
Solon Library will present, “Take Control of your Finances: 101” on Thursday, April 26, from 7 until 8:30 p.m. The library will host representatives from Hills Bank & Trust Co., Solon State Bank and Bridge Community Bank as well as Shelley Prybil from Financial Integrity. Discussion will include how to check or improve your credit score, how much should you save for retirement, when it’s best to refinance and how to set up a college fund for your grandchildren.
