Pamela Jean Hobbs, 60, of North Liberty, died peacefully on Thursday, Dec. 12, 2013, in her home with her family by her side. A memorial service was held on Dec. 16 in the Hagele and Honts Funeral Home, Mediapolis. Private burial followed in the Kossuth Cemetery. Pam was born on May 23, 1953 in El Paso, Texas and was the daughter of Ralph and Doris Harrison Honson. The Honson family moved to Mediapolis in 1961 when her father opened Honson Optometry. Pam graduated with the Class of 1971 and then graduated from the American Institute of Business (AIB) in Des Moines with a degree in business. Pam worked as a manager for Younkers for several years. Pam was united in marriage to Nicholas B. Hobbs on Oct. 13, 1973 in Mediapolis. Pam is survived by her three children; Molly (Brent) Chambliss of Tipton, Katie Hobbs of North Liberty, and Jacob (Amber) Hobbs of Rapid City, Ill.; her father, Ralph Honson of Bettendorf; sister, Lisa Delzell of Bettendorf; brothers, Gary (Mrs. Joan) Honson of Davenport and David (Karen) Honson of Iowa City; five granddaughters, Sydney, Savannah, Delany, Camryn and Kylah. Pam was preceded in death by her mother, Doris, and an infant at birth. Pam’s passion in life was her children and granddaughters. She also loved listening to Jimmy Buffet and was an avid New York Yankee’s fan. Pam was an amazing mother, daughter, sister, grandmother, aunt and friend. She will be forever missed and never forgotten.
