Solon Public Library

Third grade BINGO

The Solon Public Library is ready for third grade BINGO. We have copies of the BINGO sheets and books on the different topics displayed on top of our nonfiction section. If you have any questions or need help finding a book on a specific topic, do not hesitate to stop by the circulation desk. Each month, during third grade BINGO, we will update the books on display and have new BINGO sheets available.

Halloween party Oct. 27

The library will be hosting its annual Halloween costume party on Monday, Oct. 27, from 6:30 until 7:30 p.m. Children should come in their Halloween costumes and be ready to participate in a fun-filled hour of games, crafts and indoor trick-or-treating. There is no charge or registration for this event.
After Halloween do you ever feel overwhelmed by all of the costumes piling up in your closet? If so consider donating them to the Friends of the Library for the annual Halloween costume and decoration sale.

Meal and a movie

Meal and a movie is from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m. on, usually, the last Friday of the month. The movie is free, but registration is required for the catered meal and costs $7.50 for an entrée, vegetable, and dessert. The movie follows the meal and usually begins around noon. Call Sandra Hanson at 319-624-2710 to register, or sign up at Old Gold Dining.
This month the movie will be “Last Vegas.” Billy, Paddy, Archie, and Sam have been best friends since childhood. So when Billy, the group’s sworn bachelor, finally proposes to his 30-something girlfriend, the four head to Las Vegas with a plan to stop acting their age and relive their glory days. However, upon arriving, the four quickly realize that the decades have transformed Sin City and tested their friendship in ways they never imagined.
