West High runners fifth at state cross country

FORT DODGE– The Iowa City West High Women of Troy and Trojans both placed fifth in team points in the 2016 State Cross Country Meet held Saturday, Oct. 29, in Fort Dodge.
West’s Bailey Nock won the Class 4A Girls race in 18:06.9, a full three seconds ahead of second-place runner Jessica McKee of Johnston. Johnston took the team championship with 26 points, followed by Dubuque Hempstead (91), City High (121) and Cedar Falls (137) with the Women of Troy fifth with 166.
Ali Ali led the West High Trojans with his seventh-place finish in 16:00.3. West Des Moines Dowling Catholic won the 4A Boys race with 100 team points followed by Pleasant Valley (102), Cedar Rapids Prairie (140) and West Des Moines Valley (163), with the Trojans fifth with 163.
