Donna Kasner Keyes died April 15, 2009, at her son’s home in Lakewood, Colo. She was born to Ted and Beulah Kasner in Cedar Rapids, where in 1949 she married Eugene Kessler at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. They lived in the rural Solon area and were married for many years before she divorced him and married Lt. Edward Keyes, a retired Army officer. Donna and Edward lived in Florida until Edward’s fatal heart attack in March 2009, when Donna moved to Lakewood, Colo.
Donna is survived by her son, Eugene Junior Kessler of Lakewood, Colo.; her daughter, Judy Mulvihill of Simpsonville, S.C.; three grandchildren, James, Kimberly and Darlene Mulvihill, all of South Carolina; a sister, Beulah of Cedar Rapids; two sisters-in-law, Darlene Klouda and Dorothy Linnell, both of Solon; a brother-in-law, Clarence Kessler of Cedar Rapids; and her former husband, Eugene Kessler of Cedar Rapids. Her husband, Edward Keyes, is survived by a daughter; and a sister, Lisa Mcloud of Cedar Rapids.
A military funeral was held May 1 at Fort Logan Military Cemetery, Denver, Colo. for Lt. Edward Keyes and his wife, Donna.
